THE CUP FINAL !!
AFA's superb Under 14s qualified for the cup final after a tense second leg of the semi final last Saturday. AFA took at 2-1 advantage into the 2nd leg, and were held 2-2 in the away leg meaning they went through 4-3 on aggregate. Their reward is the Federation Cup final which is held at the Federal Pitch in Malaga (behind El Corte Ingles/Palacio de Congresos in Malaga.) Support is welcome for the special day... kick off is at 12pm. Good luck to Thomas and the Team.

AFA to play against Team from Leeds next Wednesday at MPF.
AFA's new look Juveniles will be taking on a team from Leeds at the MPF next Wednesday evening.

AFA play against EVERTON at MPF.
Everton won the first match against a very young AFA team 9-1 on Friday but AFA got their revenge with a fantastic match on the Sunday. Charlie scored 4 amazing goals to make the score 7-7 at full time. AFA eventually just edged the Penalty shoot out. Well done to both teams that took part and thanks for all the support on the day!

AFA MARBELLA YOUTH FOOTBALL TEAM REACH EUROPEAN FINALS (Article from The Town Crier)
Last weekend, the local AFA/Pablo Picasso Marbella under 14’s (Infantil) football team entered the equivalent of the “Champions League” tournament in Dusseldorf – Germany, where they had to compete against all the top professional teams and academies from the leading European Leagues.
AFA Marbella were the only non - professional club amongst the other top 20 professional clubs taking part.

END OF SEASON PRESENTATION 21st June 2008
Dear Parents and Players, as you will have seen from our end of season letter, the End of season presentation will be held from 2pm on the 21st June 2008 at the Robin Hood pub next to the crowne plaza hotel in benamara/benavista.

This marks the close of our season until August. Please make sure that you all arrive on time, so we can start promptly. Mark Beard our new coaching director (pictured below) will introduce himself, and there will be a short presentation on the new Soccer Centre in La Cala. All plans for next season will be revealed and its the perfect chance for us all to catch up, as the players all receive their well deserved trophies after a hard and enjoyable season. Players will be fed, and food will be available for parents and families to buy on the day. There will be live music and entertainment.

DUE TO OUR RELATIONSHIP WITH BOTH FULHAM FC AND PETERRBORO, AND DUE TO OUR CONTINUED EXPLANTION, AFA MARBELLA ARE DELITED TO ANNOUNCE THAT TRAINING WILL BE HELD NEXT SEASON AF MPFS IN ADDITION TO OUR EXISTING FACILITIES AT LA CANADA. MFPS IS UNDOUBTEDLY ONE OF THE BEST FOOTBALL FACILITIES IN EUROPE.

AFA Marbella are delighted to announce that Mark Beard will be returning to Marbella to take over the role of Coaching director at AFA from July 2008.
We look forward to welcoming Mark and all that he brings to AFA. Mark, who will be well known by players of Torrox and San Pedro, brings a wealth of Experience to AFA.

Fulham and Stevenage Trials go well

5 Under 16 players pictured above at Fulham returned from their week in the UK full of confidence for the future. Zach, Phil, Charlie, Sam and Lewis impressed at both Fulham and Stevenage during the course of the week are have been invited back for further trials as the new season starts.

Training Times and Match Info - check this every week!!

Although our matches have finised, training will continue throughout June until the presentation evening which is our official end of season.

The Presentation evening is at the Robin Hood on Sat 21st June 2008. 2pm Start.

Friendlies are currenty being organised, please ensure you speak with your coaches.

PETERBORO AND AFA WORKING TOGETHER

Peterboro United and AFA are working together to find talented players in the Marbella Community. Trials will be held every season, with up to 60 youngsters meeting the manager Darren Ferguson, son of Man Utd's Alex and getting the chance to impress the coaching staff.

Your coaches are watching your progress. Work hard and come June 2008 you could be one of the players joining AFA at La Cala with the first team.
